SURVEY

MISSION STATEMENT

To conduct land survey for Home Site Lease Applicants who have met all requirements for surveys.
Provide pending survey list to respective chapter. Chapter will prioritize list and submit list to survey section.
Obtain pending land survey folder from homesite section, contact client, chapter officials, grazing committee person to schedule land survey, perform survey, develop rough draft survey of plats.
Provide legal description.
Submit rough draft to drafting section for final drafting of survey plat, submit plat to registered land surveyor for certification.
Review all survey plats submitted for certification by other divisions, outside entities.
Coordinate and assist with all outside entities to update land surveying information, re-establish Township corner and lines by Global Position survey or by conventional survey techniques.
Prepare letters, memos, reports on land survey activities.
Provide land survey information to clients, public.
Attend meeting on land dispute, budgets, survey policies and procedures.
Prepare annual plans, budget proposals, and staffing plans.
Order supplies, replace survey equipment.
Provide staff evaluations and conduct training in all aspects of conventional survey methods and GPS surveys.
Perform Navajo Nation land withdrawal surveys, crime scene land surveys, re-identify boundaries, or locate section corner monuments.

GOALS

1. To Provide technical assistance to all Navajo Nation departments in survey activity.
2. To certify survey plat for all Navajo Nation departments.
3. To promote Navajo students and staff to become certified surveyors.
4. To provide employment.
5. To complete monumentation of all unsurveyed lands of the Navajo Nation
